This course is suitable for anyone involved in the animal feed industry who does not hold a formal nutrition qualification, and will be of particular benefit to sales personnel, laboratory and quality managers, and raw material manufacturers.

The course will cover the following topics, giving time for discussion and exercises to simplify and understand how the design of animal feeding systems affects the health and productivity of farm animals:

  • The digestive systems of ruminant and monogastric animals
  • The nutrient constituents of feedstuffs
  • Vitamins and mineral requirements
  • The nutrient requirements of farm animals for growth, reproduction and lactation
  • The application of nutritional principles using least cost formulation package
